What Is A Wedding Planner?
A wedding planner works for you, and with you to help you plan and co-ordinate your dream day. A wedding planner will not take over the planning, we can be involved as much or as little as you desire. You are always in control and make the final decisions.
Our priorities for you are:-
- Source and arrange the best suppliers and services for you, and to offer you value for money.
- Help you work within your specified budget.
- To become the single point of contact for you.
- We will keep you regularly updated on the progress of all arrangements.
- To pass on all of our valuable knowledge and experience of the wedding industry.
- Overall we bring back the enjoyment and fun to you in the planning…and take the worry out of your wedding.
Who Are We?
The Exeter Quartet is a small closely run business with an intimate team of experienced professionals. Established by Anisha Hunter after organising her own wedding, and realising how much work does go into planning the event, she decided that other brides deserved to have the worry taken out of the wedding.
We develop a close relationship with all of our clients and we prefer to meet the bride or groom, and often both, personally, during an initial consultation. Here we assess exactly what personal service the couple require, to ensure that they both have the most special, perfect day possible. This gives us a wider picture on personalities, likes/dislikes, colours, hobbies etc…all which can be incorporated into the wedding plans.
Then, with the help of her creative team, she sets up a brief for the day, consulting the couple as much or as little as they wish.
Our aim is to create a unique day for you, without you having to do all the hard work. We believe that this is possible with the assistance of The Exeter Quartet.
We are committing to the doing, leaving the only thing left for you….. to say “I do”.
Do I Have To Hire A Wedding Planner For The Total Package?
No, you can ask us to source the one or two services you simply cannot find….for example a swan shaped ice sculpture or an “elvis” singer. We will be happy to work with you on as little or as much as you request.
How Are Suppliers Paid?
All agreements and invoices with suppliers and the venue are in your names. Every invoice is checked by The Exeter Quartet before we advise you to pay the suppliers direct. You can send separate payments to each supplier or, alternatively, you can send one payment to ourselves, and we will pay each supplier for you, and forward a receipt to you for each payment made.
We Have Been Told By Our Wedding Venue That They Have A Wedding Co-Ordinator Employed There, How Are You Different?
The wedding co-ordinator based at the venue is only employed by that particular hotel/venue. It is their responsibility initially to sell the benefits of the venue to you, and then see that all the arrangements at the venue run smoothly in the run up to your wedding, for example that the correct number of tables are available, dietary requirements are dealt with, enough staff are on duty etc. In most cases, the venue’s co-ordinator will not attend on the wedding day, it will be a duty manager who follows up on the arrangements. They will not get involved with any other aspects of your day although they may be able to give you a few contacts of local suppliers (which would not generally be recommendations or vetted suppliers) for you to be able to make your own arrangements. If your venue does have a co-ordinator, we would always liaise and work with them to ensure your requests and arrangements at the venue are confirmed.
How Much Will It Cost?
At The Exeter Quartet we can work with you both on a complete wedding package, or only one of two services which are unusual or difficult to source. We always work on an individual quote based on the unique requirements for each couple.
Is There Any Hidden Costs?
We work with our exclusive supplier base who offer us discounts which are then passed onto our clients, the benefits to you re cost saving and confidence in our recommended and reliable suppliers.
This gives us a wider picture on personalities, likes/dislikes, colours, hobbies etc…all which can be incorporated into the wedding plans.
We work on a fee basis, (rather than commission which is often 15% of total spend) and all costings for wedding co-ordination and research are presented up front. You will know exactly how much our services will cost, without any nasty surprises at any later stages. Our costs are based on the size and complexity of your wedding, not the size of your budget. We do not take any hidden commission payments from our suppliers.
